I’m an Engineer by training, with a degree from UFRJ in Brazil and am currently pursuing a master's in Computational and Mathematical Biology at Aix-Marseille University. My journey to France was driven by the desire of learning more about programming and algorithms specifically to address complex biological challenges, but also to meet new people, new cultures and travel. Currently, I’m doing a three month internship focused on lineage trees.

Giannis is a physicist interested in the intricate processes that take place during the development of an embryo. Using physics, computer science and biology Giannis aims to uncover the fundamental mechanisms that govern the final form of an organism.

Having received an education in applied mathematics and physics with an emphasis in biotechnology, I became interested in machine learning in biology, so now I am actively learning how to build and train neural networks, especially those related to the biological application of computer vision algorithms
